Rufaro’s work is beautifully detailed – the patterns of the dresses are perfect and precise. He also manages to imbue his sculptures with plenty of energy and movement.
Unsurprisingly, Rufaro has received national acclaim for his creativity. He’s been a winner and also a frequent runner-up of the National Arts Merit Award for sculpture.
This stunning sculpture is a very versatile size – it would make a wonderful garden centrepiece, but equally, it could be displayed in a large interior space.
Springstone is the local Zimbabwean name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is suitable for outdoor display, as it is impermeable and therefore naturally resistant to frost. However, we would recommend covering this piece during a hard frost for peace of mind, as some parts of the sculpture are quite thin.
